In order to ensure proper participation, capacity is key. That is why we choose to equip young people with knowledge, skills and information instrumental to their capacity as leaders. We host trainings, workshops and study visits with young people in order to strengthen political leadership skills, as described in our Programmes and projects below.

PYPA ADD-ON TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Since 2019, we have collaborated with Green Forum (GF)- Sweden in implementing the Programme for Young Politicians in Africa (PYPA), a transnational African capacity-strengthening programme for youth (18 to 35 years old), active in political parties representing different ideologies in Zambia and Malawi.

To further strengthen the capacity and self-development of young politicians in the two countries, we are implementing activities that aim to increase knowledge on continental, regional and sub-regional bodies, mechanisms, regional economic communities and instruments, so that young people can use the mechanisms to further democracy, human rights and sustainable development. The training programme will run from May - December 2022; and is open to PYPA alumni, political activists/governance experts.
